When we meet with co-workers, look at companies, interview potential employees, employers or vendors we learn their background and credentials.
We do not get that information from teachers in our schools.
Why is it we just assume our teachers are qualified? We are left to trust that the districts and boards hire appropriately and check backgrounds of those who spend more waking hours with our children during the week than we do.
I was able to find more information about my printer than my child’s teacher. That’s just not right.
