Did you know that there are people you work with who, in passing, develop stories in their head about you? Are you a gardener? Do you like music and play in a band? Yeah, that’s not the kind of stories that make for interesting entertainment. But don’t worry, in the end these scenes are collages of personalities and never see the light of day, at least not with actual names attached. Enjoy (and don’t worry too much about the people you work with: you can’t tell if they’re in the basement or in their heads!)
I guess that means the van will be showing up as his desired ride soon? He’s been back on the truck, so … perhaps jones’in for a fresh catch is making him irritable
Serial killers are typically the quiet ones, who live at home with dominating forces, but have a well lit, well concealed “lab” in the basement. This one is probably sanitized and sterile, like an operating room, with crisp white enamel paint, non-slip rubber tile flooring, and plain Formica cabinets, with a single rolling stool and tray table. The lighting matches the scene, with the blue-white fluorescent and single work spot light. The one high window in the corner of the anteroom is smudged just enough, and sealed with rubber caulking.
What kind of music do you think he has piped in while he talks to the semi-conscious body lying helpless, strapped in or perhaps he’s humming along with the muzak while he unrolls his leather bound pack of stainless steel surgical tools, only stopping briefly to admire one in particular, which makes him almost imperceptibly gasp as he reminisces of a previous time with it
He then gently puts it down, grabs his heavy waterproof apron, and with his head slightly tilted down turns his gaze to the hydraulic table holding his evening entertainment
Can’t just picture how secretly excited he was with the new work attire shoe catalog? It’s electronic now, so he can browse, in private and in his preferred electronic form: slip resistant, waterproof (and therefore mucous and membrane proof) footwear, to ensure more precise, steady cuts without danger?
